Our Stories

No matter how small the improvement may seem for a child, to us—it’s huge. Each milestone, each smile, each moment of progress is a cause for celebration.

Because every step forward is proof that we are making a real difference in a child’s life. And that’s what keeps us going.

My child has been with Tshepo-Themba since 2018, I am grateful for finding the school. I did know where to take my child, which meant I had to stay home and look after him. He could not talk but a miracle happened.

2 years after having him at Tshepo Themba he started talking, at the age of 8 years. Now he can even count and understand basics and can write numbers and some words. We could not believe it at home.

Tshepo-Themba gave me hope again.

“Tshepo-Themba Gave Me My Life Back”

I was overwhelmed and deeply depressed. Staying at home to care for my daughter meant I couldn’t go to work or even to the shops. My life felt like it had come to a complete stop. I cried almost every day, wondering if this was how it would always be.

My other children needed basic things I couldn’t provide. We were surviving on nothing but the disability grant. I felt helpless. But the day my daughter was accepted at Tshepo-Themba Disability Care Centre, everything changed.

Not only did my daughter receive the care and support she needed — I started to heal too. With her in safe hands, I found the strength to get back on my feet and eventually found employment.

I’m forever grateful for the incredible work they do. They’re not just helping children with disabilities—they’re transforming families, restoring dignity, and rebuilding lives.
